In beautiful village in the heart of Wiltshire, England, lives one of our PCAGOE members, Pippa of  Pipsjewellery.  She has been  using Polymer Clay to create things  at least since 1990.  She describes herself as a bit of a butterfly, and loves  trying new techniques in her beads so you will always be able to find something new and different in her shop. From her blog - “Addiction. Not a word I ever thought I would use in a description of myself! But here I am, addicted to the stuff and loving every minute! Come and share with me the up and downs and ins and outs of trying to be a Polymer Clay Artist.”  We think she has succeeded! pips2

The one recurring theme that you will find in her jewelry, however, is leaves. She loves  incorporating them into jewelry  in lots of different styles and colors.

Polymer Clay For A Cause

The most recent charitable undertaking within the PCAGOE is Polymer Clay for a Cause.  Angela Moore (Elementaldragons.etsy.com) of Aurora, Colorado is the person responsible for initiating this charity. Angela’s 14-year-old daughter, Courtney, passed away from muscular dystrophy. Wheelchair-bound all of her life, Cortney endured 14+ surgeries and had  pneumonia over 100 times.  According to her mom, “Cortney had a desire to be artistic, but we had a lot of trouble finding something she could do, so in turn she lived (artistically) through me.” Elemental Dragons was Cortney’s idea. Angela also said that Cortney grew her hair every year and cut it for Locks of Love. It’s children such as Cortney who will benefit from the Polymer Clay for a Cause store front at Etsy. All proceeds will go to a children’s charity.

Please visit Polymerclayforacause.etsy.com and make a purchase of one of the beautiful donations.

Featured Artist - Jael’s Jewels

One of the best descriptions of a cane is found in Jael’s profile on Etsy.  Here’s how she describes it -   “A log or “cane” is created from polymer clay with a design running through it (much like those seasonal tubes of sugar cookies you slice and bake). Thin slices are then applied to a polymer clay base, often layering to achieve a dimensional look.”

Her husband is the minister of a small Episcopal church in Rantoul, Illinois, St. Christopher Church.  Jael has listings in her Etsy shop for which the proceeds help people in her community and her church who need emergency assistance.

From her feedback - “I’ve dreamed about this focal for a while now, and it’s even more amazing to see it in person!!! As always Jael’s clay beads are so detailed and finely finished that they’re beyond anything that I’ve ever seen/own. Thank you so much for sharing your artistry!!”
