Washington, DC is the home of artist David Vanover.  He is the only gentleman among over seventy women in the PCAGOE.  Since he is so unique, both in gender and artistry, it was  decided to feature him first.  His magnificent jewelry truly is an art.  David mixes polymer clay with precious metals of sterling silver and 14 karat gold to create outstanding, distinct wearable art.

From his feedback on Etsy: “I have two necklace/earring sets from Revonav and there is nothing in my wardrobe that gets more compliments. The beads are spectacularly detailed and each piece tells a lovely story. The jewelry is truly ART and truly unique right down to the clasp. The shipping is fast and comes gift packaged. Just more proof of the detail Revonav puts into each piece. I saw Revonav at a show once and trust me, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose .”

And third place this month goes to beadworx for her colorful textured inro.

Thanks to all the entrants and voters.

Here are a few voter comments about our winning entries:

All the entries are beautiful, but the difficulty and detail of this box are great! They definitely got the theme down!

Absolutely gorgeous, elaborate box. I love it.

I like the simplicity of the piece, the way the marbeling in the turquoise flows with the motion in the texture of the ebony making them seem echoes of each other and that the texturing of the ebony makes me “feel” it when I look at the photo. I’d love to see and feel this piece in person!

Black and Turquoise are a favorite!

And speaking of voters, our two prize winners, chosen by random number generator, are critrcrazy and Kathy Beasley. Congratulations! We know you will enjoy these beautiful, handmade polymer clay prizes.

Vote to win in our September TEXTURE challenge

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Below are the entries for the PCAGOE September challenge. The theme this month is texture, and the idea was simply to show the various ways polymer clay can be textured. Polymer clay pieces can be smooth, rough, matte or polished. Texture can be created by sculpting, stamping into the clay, adding things to the clay, and countless other ways. We hope you will be as fascinated as we are by the diversity of our textured entries. All of these pieces are handmade out of polymer clay, and some are for sale in our etsy shops - click the links below to start shopping! Thanks to everyone who entered this month.

When you vote for your favorite entry, you’ll automatically be entered in a random drawing to win one of two prize packs. The first is a set of, you guessed it, textured items! It includes: tin by ZudaGay, earrings by jangeisen, cuff by Polymer Clay Productions, brooch by artsyclay, pendants by marciapalmer, divadea, paperpam and juliespace. The second includes two lovely pieces of jewelry: necklace by MichellesClay and earrings by polymerclaycreations. There are two great prizes to be won this month, so scroll down and vote for your favorite entry!
