Who inspires you?
Other artists inspire me, both polymer clay artists and artists of
other mediums. Donna Kato, Jana Roberts Benzen, Lisa Pavelka and the artists
of the PCAGOE inspire me to create. Christi Freisen has been a big
influence on my work, I love her style. Other artists like Escher, Van
Gogh and many others inspire me as well.
What inspires you?
The colors, shapes and textures of nature inspire me. I love to sculpt
leaves and animals. I love the world of dragons and fairies and all
things magical and it inspires me to create my dragon sculptures.
Where do you create?
I create in my bedroom/clay room, in which I have a separate area for claying, it takes up half of my room. I have a work table and storage area, both of which are usually cluttered with several different works in
progress.
How long have you been working with clay?
I started working with polymer clay in April of 2007. I had been beading and wasn’t happy with the selection of beads and the expense of buying them. A dear friend told me that I could make my own beads with polymer clay. That idea appealed to me but I hesitated at first, I had never used polymer clay before and wasn’t sure how to go about it. It took a little persuading on her part, but I finally went to the craft store and bought a few packs of clay and was immediately hooked. It is such a versatile medium and a fun one. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun new craft.
